The Global Exchange on Migration and Diversity seeks to appoint a postdoctoral researcher for study focused on the welcoming and integration of newcomers in the UK, which builds on highly successful previous GEM initiatives, including the Inclusive Cities programme.
You will have a passion both for academic research and for knowledge exchange with policy makers, NGOs, and other stakeholders and an understanding of the current policy and academic debates related to the inclusion of newcomers at the local level in the UK. You will be able to equally balance these two aspects of the role, supporting applied knowledge exchange and policy engagement, whilst also contributing to an academic research agenda.
Applications are particularly welcome from women and black and minority ethnic candidates who are under-represented in academic posts in Oxford and those with lived experience of the immigration system.
The GEM Director, Jacqui Broadhead, will be happy to respond to informal inquiries about the role: jacqueline.broadhead@compas.ox.ac.uk
For queries relating to the recruitment process itself, please contact: recruit@anthro.ox.ac.uk
The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Friday 29th August 2025
We expect to hold interviews in the week commencing 22nd September 2025.
