Digital Transition Manager

Canterbury Christ Church University – IT

Ensure seamless transitions for a digitally confident university

We’re recruiting a proactive and organised Digital Transition Manager to lead the smooth introduction of new and improved IT services into live operation at Canterbury Christ Church University.

This role is vital to ensuring that our digital services are introduced in a way that is seamless, low-risk, and aligned to both user needs and operational readiness - supporting the university’s broader digital transformation goals.

As Digital Transition Manager, you’ll shape and embed structured transition processes that balance speed with stability. Working closely with digital service design, project delivery, operations, and business teams, you’ll ensure that new or changed services are fully prepared for go-live - with the right training, documentation, and support in place.

You’ll also champion service readiness and lead post-implementation reviews, identifying lessons and improvements that strengthen our transition approach over time.

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Plan and manage service transitions, minimising disruption and ensuring a positive user experience
  • Develop and maintain consistent service transition frameworks, processes and templates
  • Align transition activities with project plans, business needs and IT capabilities
  • Define and enforce service readiness and acceptance criteria, ensuring operational teams and users are fully prepared
  • Coordinate training and documentation, supporting a smooth handover to service teams
  • Identify and manage risks and issues to safeguard service quality
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and embed continuous improvement
  • Ensure service transition complies with governance, security, and operational standards

This is a key opportunity for someone who thrives on structure, collaboration and delivery - making sure that every service we launch is fully ready for success.

Flexible & Connected Working

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible. It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus, but in most cases the work location will be determined by the service required or the tasks/activities being undertaken.
