This role operates primarily on a remote working arrangement that will require occasional travel to our locations below to meet business requirements as needed.  We may expand to other locations in the future which you will be required to visit. Our working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.

As a Senior Lecturer, you will support the enhancement of learning, teaching and assessment across the institution. Reporting to the Head of the Teaching Excellence Academy, you’ll lead on key projects aligned with Arden’s academic priorities, shaping policies, practices, and staff development initiatives.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues across academic and professional services to deliver impactful change and innovation in teaching and learning.

As a Senior Lecturer you will focus on enhancing curriculum and assessment. You will work under the guidance of the Head of Assessment to lead strategic projects that improve assessment practices across the University. You will shape and implement policy, drive innovation in curriculum design, and evaluate impact—collaborating with academic and professional services colleagues to support high-quality, inclusive learning experiences.

About You:

For both roles you will need to have:

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and delivery professional development in learning, teaching and assessment for HE staff across academic and professional services.
  • Experience in analysing data from various formats to deliver robust evaluations and actionable recommendations for HE enhancement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with Arden students and staff
  • Experience of working with senior leadership, influencing change, and managing expectations.
  • Experience of implementing and evaluation university wide projects.
  • Experience of contributing to an institutional Advance HE accredited scheme or taught programme leading to Fellowship, either through assessing internal applications or teaching on a programme
  • You will need at least SFHEA, or sufficient experience to submit a successful application for SFHEA or PFHEA in 2025. (We are unable to progress candidates with no category of Fellowship).

For the Senior Lecturer in Learning and Teaching you will need:

  • A significant and successful track record of leading developments in learning and teaching practices and processes across a range of disciplines and levels within Higher Education (HE).
  • Proven experience in leading, developing, delivery, and assessing of Advance HE Programmes or Schemes.
  • Knowledge of HE sector reference points for quality assurance and enhancement.

For the Senior Lecturer in Curriculum and Assessment you will need:

  • Extensive knowledge of Higher Education curriculum and assessment practices.
  • A significant and successful track record of making changes in assessment and curriculum design.
