Trainee Lecturer in Biology

Our trainee programme has been developed to attract experienced industry professionals, with expert industry knowledge and skills, to work in Further Education. Their understanding of the latest skills, techniques, approaches and equipment has the potential to improve student outcomes.

Joining Bury College as a Trainee Lecturer in Biology, you will be employed on a full time or part-time. Whilst studying on campus towards a recognised teaching qualification, you will have a reduced teaching commitment equivalent to no more than 18 hours per week. You will also have extensive support, guidance and mentoring.

The College will fund the cost of your Teaching Qualification, and the trainee programme is designed and delivered in a way that will ensure you obtain all the skills that are required to become a teacher.

About You

Candidates should hold a degree in Biology or a related subject and have experience of working in a biology or science focussed role. Candidates should understand the latest skills, techniques and approaches to inspire our learners. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as is an ability to meet deadlines and to inspire, motivate and engage students.
