Applications are invited for an appointment as a Lecturer in Zoology at University of Galway. This is a full-time, specific purpose contract. The successful applicant will contribute to teaching and examining undergraduate and postgraduate programmes primarily in the Zoology programme, but will also contribute to teaching of other biology-related programmes in the wider School of Natural Sciences where required. The creation of new course modules and/or components, as well as the administration and coordination of modules and programmes are likely. The post-holder will be expected to have some expertise in evolutionary biology (including ecological genetics), have some knowledge of entomology/honeybee biology, and be able to contribute to basic botany or environmental science material. The postholder will be based in the Zoology group in the Earth and Life Sciences department of the School which also houses the Botany/Plant Science & Environmental Science Group, and the Earth and Ocean Science group. The appointee should have excellent interpersonal skills and be prepared to collaborate with colleagues within the School, University, nationally and internationally.
