Join our dynamic Advancement team in the role of Stewardship Officer. You will be playing a vital role in delivering income and stewarding our supporters.

Role Details:

This is a permanent, Full-time opportunity. We are happy for this role to be hybrid.

Your focus will be writing high-quality funding applications, proposals, budgets and reports, alongside helping to deliver excellence in managing our wide range of relationships with Major Donors ranging from individuals to Corporate Supporters and Legacy pledgers.

What we’re looking for:

We’re seeking an organised and self-motivated person to support the stewardship needs of our Philanthropy and Partnerships team, providing support to team managers across legacy gifts, scholarships, and corporate sponsorship of exhibitions, from development of applications and proposals to reporting.

The right person will be able to make their mark in a vibrant Advancement team working for one of Britain’s foremost cultural institutes, utilising their excellent written and verbal communication skills as the Courtauld embarks on the most ambitious fundraising campaign in its history.

Who are we?

The Courtauld is a specialist university and home to the largest community of art historians and conservators in the UK. It offers a range of degree programmes in the History of Art, curating and the conservation of easel and wall paintings. The Courtauld cares for one of the greatest art collections in the UK, displayed at The Courtauld Gallery in Somerset House, central London.

The Courtauld works to advance how we see and understand the visual arts, as an internationally-renowned centre for the teaching, research of art history and a major public gallery. Founded in 1932, the organisation has been at the forefront of the study of art ever since.

Key responsibilities:

Develop, write and submit high-quality funding applications, proposals and budgets that demonstrate the gallery and university's needs, outcomes and achievements.

Work closely with the Gallery and university teams, including academics, exhibition curators, Finance and other staff and students to gather relevant information, evidence and stories for funding applications and reports.

Support the Senior Advancement Managers in all relevant applications and proposals to donors and new prospects in their portfolios.

Work with the Advancement Operations team, to monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of funded projects, ensuring compliance with grant agreements and budgets, and other donor requirements.

Provide support for donor or prospect visits to The Courtauld.
