An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Epidemiologist at Research Assistant / Research Fellow grade to join the Centre for Global Non-Communicable Diseases in the Institute for Global Health (IGH) at UCL.

About the role

The main purpose of the role is to provide support to the co-ordination, monitoring and data analysis of a large phase III diabetes prevention trial in East Africa. This will involve close working and communication with African colleagues, PIs and local teams, and data management and statistical skills to support ongoing trial activities. Monitoring of activities, interaction with PIs and local teams, and ethics and steering committees, oversight of data collection systems. The post-holder will interact with data managers, setting up processes to monitor ongoing activities and conducting statistical analyses to support colleagues in publishing and presenting statistical findings.

About you

The successful candidate must have good knowledge of epidemiological research methods and statistical methods and their application. They must also have experience of conducting statistical analyses in research studies.

The ideal candidate will have statistical programming knowledge and experience, using Stata or other statistical packages. They must also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, analytical and organisational skills.
