About the Role
An exciting opportunity to work on the INSTILLED (Implementing NIDUS Support to Individualise Living Well with Dementia) Study funded by the NIHR Three Schools Dementia Research Programme.
In the NIDUS-Family trial, 302 people living with dementia and family carers set goals around their individual priorities and needs for living as well as possible at home. Two-thirds of these families received the co-designed NIDUS-family psychosocial support intervention. We found that this support helped families achieve their goals. NIDUS-Family has now been renamed GRACE (Goal diRected, Accessible & Evidence-based Care).
The INSTILLED Study aims to use realist methods and implementation theoretical frameworks to explore how to diffuse GRACE into practice across NHS, social care and third sector services in England. You will be integrated into the Tower Hamlets diagnostic memory clinic and provided with supervision from a clinical psychologist. We are also working closely with the Bengali community in east London to adapt the intervention culturally and linguistically. You will work in a dynamic team of researchers within the Centre for Psychological Medicine at QMUL (led by Professor Claudia Cooper) and have close links to the NIHR DeNPRU (Dementia and Neurodegenerative diseases policy research unit).
About You
The post holder is responsible for providing research support to the INSTILLED study, including organisation of meetings, liaising with study sites and study advisors, assisting with training facilitators, delivering the support intervention to family carers and people with dementia, conducting qualitative interviews and follow up assessments, administrative support to key senior staff maintaining databases, research outputs, maintaining the NIDUS webpages and day to day administrative management. We will provide you with strong and enthusiastic support to develop your career in research, clinical psychology or professional services.
