About the role
The University of Leicester has partnered with Dalian University of Technology (DUT) since 2017 offering a range of College of Science and Engineering Bachelor degree programmes.
The courses are taught in English by academic staff from the UK and PRC, integrating an intensive English Language course within the first year of degree. Typically, the University of Leicester is responsible for providing all lecture and course material for the core curriculum, the English language modules and teaching 50% of the modules for each programme. As an EAP Coordinator, you will teach on and be responsible for delivering the English language modules to first year students. You will spend two periods of approximately three months each on the Panjin Campus in China. For the remaining part of the year you will be based in Leicester working on other programmes delivered by the English Language Teaching Unit.
About you
We are seeking EAP Course Coordinators for an initial two year contract who can teach high-quality lessons within a communicative approach. You should be able to adapt to institutional and student needs and be willing to collaborate with colleagues in the ongoing development of the English language programme. Additionally, as this is a collaborative provision delivered offshore, you should be able to adapt to unpredictable challenges both inside and outside the classroom. You will hold a recognised TEFLQ qualification, such as DELTA, with substantial experience EFL. You will also have experience of teaching on pre-sessional or in-sessional EAP courses in a university context.
