UK Partner Manager

Canterbury Christ Church University – UK Partnerships and Apprenticeships Unit

Please note a full application including a covering letter detailing your experience alongside a CV is required for applications to be considered. Please be advised applications made without providing a cover letter will not be accepted.

Background of department/role
The UK Partnerships and Apprenticeships Unit (UKPAU) is located within the Directorate of the Senior Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research, Enterprise, and Business Development. The department provides leadership, support and advice for UK partnerships and apprenticeships provision. Furthermore, it oversees the process of UK partnerships (and apprenticeships) onboarding, development and delivery and supports the development and delivery of the university’s Partnerships Strategy through its oversight of the Framework for Partnership Development. We currently have students studying our franchised or validated courses with 16 UK partner institutions, 2 of which are consortia made up of multiple FE (Further Education) colleges, and 5 of which are commercial colleges.

Due to the promotion of the current postholder, and the growth in both the number of academic partners and size of their contribution to the university’ income, we are now seeking to appoint a UK Partner Manager. The primary role of the postholder would be to lead and be responsible for effective operational management of named UK academic partners, from the point at which new partners are taken through the approval process, thus promoting sustainable income generation for the University . This is an excellent opportunity to take on an active and engaging role, where you will be contributing to one of the University’s most dynamic and exciting aspects of its work.

To be successful in this role you will have a degree or equivalent qualification and have experience in a management role, preferably in the Higher Education context. You will be able to evidence your capacity to design and implement innovative and effective solutions to address operational partnership issues and complexities, and additionally be able to prioritise work and meet fast changing deadlines and requirements, with good organisational and administrative skills. Importantly, you will be able to instigate, develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels (in both academic and professional service settings) and work collaboratively across the University and with our UK partner colleges. The ability to offer administrative support for high level meetings would be advantageous.

How will you work?
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and the nature of this role will mean that campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders.

It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus; but in most cases the work location will be determined by the service required or the tasks/activities being undertaken. Typically, this would mean, 2 or 3 days on site, and 2 or 3 days working from home.
