The post is working as a Research Associate at the Manchester Centre for Audiology and Deafness (ManCAD). You will work full-time on a research study funded by the William Demant Foundation examining listening intentions in everyday life and how they shape hearing aid outcomes with the ultimate aim of using the information to personalise hearing aid settings and thus improve hearing aid outcomes. We plan to use machine-learning to identify markers of listening intentions from data collected via sound recordings, photographs, ecological momentary assessments (EMA), and passively monitored behavioural, physiological, and environmental acoustic variables.

This post would suit someone with a PhD in biomedical engineering, data science, machine learning, experimental psychology, audiology, cognitive science, computational neuroscience, computer vision, or other relevant discipline.
