The University of Aberdeen is seeking applications for a full-time (1.0fte) Teaching Fellow in Anthropology, a lively and collegiate department with a strong emphasis on both teaching and research. This is a fixed term post for 9 months starting from 1 September 2025.

The successful candidate should have completed their PhD in anthropology and have experience of teaching and supervising in the undergraduate context.

The Teaching Fellow post involves course coordination, lecturing and tutorial responsibilities. They will oversee the delivery of an honours module on anthropological methods and the design of a research proposal, involving choosing content and delivering lectures on methods and research design. In addition, they will provide four sub-honours lectures on key debates in anthropology, lead a tutorial for this course for the entire term.  The Fellow will also support colleagues teaching sub-honours tutorials in the first-year introduction to anthropology courses throughout the year.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 6, £38,249 - £45,413 per annum, with placement according to qualifications and experience. As this post is internally funded it is available for a period of 9 months from 1 September 2025.
