As a Lecturer in Interior Architecture and Spatial Design you will work with staff and students to deliver a current and compelling curriculum balancing traditional skills with emerging technologies. Teaching responsibilities will include face to face or blended online delivery as well as one-to-one tutorials, group seminars, practical workshops, and critiques across levels 4 through 6. Module leadership, personal tutoring and academic report supervision are essential elements of this post. The successful candidate will devise and explore subject specific content and its wider connections to established and new advancements in the field, bringing commercial knowledge to benefit students across all levels.
As a lecturer, your experience of HE will inform curriculum development and research or knowledge exchange within the broad interior/spatial field and contribute to our new and ongoing curricula.
About You
You will have established expertise in one or more specialist areas of the subject field related to Interior Architecture and Spatial Design and a record of research or professional practice that informs your approach to teaching and learning. You will deploy your specialist knowledge to develop innovative teaching and learning strategies to support and embed critical thinking, practical knowledge and contextual understanding across all levels. Being able to relate theory to studio-based creative practice is essential.
You will be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of a range of practical areas related to Interior Design, Spatial Design or Architectural practices. This will be underpinned by a thorough understanding of research methodologies and academic study. You will have relevant experience of higher education, curriculum design and facilitating student learning experiences in innovative and creative ways. You will have the ability to implement quality assurance processes and manage multiple priorities.

Art and Design in the Faculty of Education, Arts, Science and Technology is a vibrant and broad area encompassing Photography, Fine Arts, Illustration, Graphic Communication Design, and 3D Design (including product design and architectures) programmes. The Art & Design subject area has a very successful track record of quality demonstrated through excellent NSS satisfaction rates, student competition wins and successful live commercial projects. The interzone of these areas is progressing, and as such we seek trans-disciplinary academics that can work across creative subject domains.
