About the role

Do you enjoy analysing complex data to uncover meaningful insights and communicate them effectively? Do you have an interest in education and education policy? Do you enjoy a busy and varied workload? If so we have an exciting opportunity for two-full-time Senior Planning and Insight Analysts to join our team.

As part of Imperial’s Learning and Teaching Strategy and the Imperial Class of 2030, we are appointing two Senior Planning and Insight Analysts within the Planning and Insight Division. Alongside the Education Evaluation Manager, you will support evaluation of the Learning and Teaching Strategy, including the Imperial student experience, and our Access and Participation Plan (APP). You will contribute to data and policy work relating to students and education (e.g. student surveys, APP and Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF)). You will produce performance measures on participation and attainment gaps and support education evaluation activities. This will support Imperial in improving access, success and progression of students from underrepresented groups and disadvantaged backgrounds.

What you would be doing

As two of three Senior Planning and Insight Analysts working with the Education Evaluation Manager to:

  • Design and maintain PowerBI dashboards to provide Imperial, Faculty, Department and programme data on key education performance measures;
  • Provide analysis of internal and external data and communicate in briefings/papers/presentations;
  • Prepare papers for senior committees on key education performance measures, summarising findings/recommendations;
  • Support development, monitoring and evaluation of Imperial’s APP;
  • Analyse student survey outcomes (e.g. NSS), prepare dashboards and disseminate findings (e.g. papers/presentations)

What we are looking for

  • Experience analysing complex datasets and summarising themes, including in written documents, with ability to interpret and explain complicated information and data
  • Knowledge of principal data sources used in Higher Education, particularly student lifecycle
  • High degree of computer competency, including spreadsheets
  • Experience of data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI)
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines on multiple tasks concurrently
  • Ability to work flexibly and on own initiative, scoping work from broad briefs and adapting to changing direction
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and interest in HE sector

Further information

The two posts are full-time and offered on an open-ended contract. The roles are hybrid and when on campus based primarily at White City.
