About the role:
We are seeking to hire a Research Associate (Post-Doc) to join the CHEDDAR Communications Hub. CHEDDAR is dedicated to advancing future communications. Funded by the EPSRC through the Technology Missions Fund (TMF), CHEDDAR explores how communications systems can underpin next generation computing and how cloud systems and AI can bolster communications, as well as working in sensing and communications.
This position will carry out research into security and privacy preserving schemes for ISAC: Integrated Sensing and Communications (aka JSAC). The research will involve building demonstrations of such systems, but this is driven from the fundamental theoretical knowledge that underpin them.
What you would be doing:
You will be co-creating new models, algorithms and schemes to advance the field of joint sensing and communications for 6G telecoms and way beyond. You will publish your work in top-tier journals, and demonstrate it at events such as MWC and relevant conferences. You will be part of a team of people looking at this topic but your focus is on practical security.
What we are looking for:
It will be expected that the candidate will have a PhD in a Communications field that demonstrates knowledge of the spectrum of the subject from theory to practical implementation.
You will have experience in publishing research in leading conferences and journals.

Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed at Research Assistant level. Salary scale: £43,863 - £47,223 per annum.
