Part Time - 18.5 hours per week

Arts University Plymouth are seeking a dedicated and innovative Lecturer to teach on our BA Hons Interior Design & Styling course, joining a creative and dynamic academic team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, planning, and delivery of a high-quality interior design course at undergraduate level. If you are passionate about interior design, keen to engage with emerging technologies, and eager to help shape the future of students in this field, we would love to hear from you.

Please note that an MA qualification is an essential requirement for this role.

About You:

  • You will have proven experience in Higher Education teaching, in Interior Design & Styling or a related field
  • You will have strong knowledge and experience in using CAD software, including Sketchup, AutoCAD and the Adobe Creative suite. Experience in teaching these programmes would be advantageous
  • You will hold in-depth understanding of the creative industries through direct industry experience, with the ability to apply theory to practice
  • You’ll have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners
  • You will hold a minimum of an MA level qualification in a relevant field

About The Role:

  • Play an integral part in delivering undergraduate teaching including the planning, developing, and delivering of engaging learning content within the BA Hons Interior Design & Styling course
  • Responsible for the assessment of student work, providing constructive feedback to students and supporting their academic and professional development
  • Engaging in scholarly activity, research, and professional practice to keep your teaching current and relevant to the creative industries
  • Take on unit leadership responsibilities, managing the administration and delivery of specific course units
  • Participating in student recruitment and retention initiatives, such as open days, UCAS fairs, and outreach activities
