Lancaster Medical School is a growing department within one of the top ten UK universities with exceptional student satisfaction scores. The opportunity has arisen to join a dedicated team at this exciting stage in the development of Lancaster Medical School.
Lancaster Medical School is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Undergraduate Assistant to provide professional service support to the undergraduate MBChB medical programme. This is a temporary role to provide maternity leave cover. The post is offered on a fixed-term basis with no confirmed end date, as it is subject to the return of the substantive postholder. Appropriate notice will be given prior to the end of the contract. This fixed term role will involve external liaison with organisations concerned with the delivery of the Primary and Secondary Care components, including but not exclusively GP practices, NHS Trusts and voluntary organisations.
You will have experience of Microsoft Office packages at an advanced level. Excellent communication, administrative and organisational skills are an advantage but more important is the attribute of willingness to learn and work flexibly becoming part of a committed team. Ideally you will have previous administrative experience in a higher education or NHS background. A proven team player you will be committed to integrating into a busy office environment, working closely with a wide range of colleagues.
The Faculty of Health and Medicine provides an environment that strongly supports the individual needs of each employee, promoting a healthy work-life balance. We are committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies on an individual basis, as well as the Athena SWAN Charter, which recognises and celebrates good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in higher education and research.
Applications for flexible, part time or job share working are welcome, subject to business need.
Lancaster Medical School is committed to ensuring our workforce is reflective of our diverse student population and is therefore committed to increasing representation of staff of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds across all roles and at all levels.
This is a fixed term post and is subject to a probationary period.
