Hours: Part Time
Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract
Placed On: 21st August 2025

Are you passionate about empowering students and shaping their university experience? Do you thrive in a dynamic, student-focused environment? If so, we have the perfect role for you!

Lancaster University Management School is seeking to recruit a Teaching co-ordinator, which is a pivotal role in the support of our education services in the faculty. You will be based primarily in the Department of Management Science looking after MSc programmes alongside two Department-based colleagues. You’ll collaborate with academic departments, student and education services, and external partners to create an outstanding learning experience. The team is part of a wider Education Services Team, led by the Faculty’s Education Services Manager.

You will be based in the Department of Management Science but may be expected to work within other academic departments of the faculty as required. This is a maternity cover and will be until the end of July 2026 in the first instance, starting as soon as possible.  We are very happy to consider applications from those who seek a part-time working pattern, to a minimum of 60% FTE (full-time equivalent), i.e. 22-25 hours per week across three days minimum, up to full time working.

What We’re Looking For:

  • You will be a self-motivated team player, with a commitment to professional development.
  • You will ideally have experience of delivering high quality administrative services in a Higher Education though any relevant administrative background would be considered.
  • You will be able to co-ordinate effectively on quality assurance, process improvement, timetabling and assessment processes.
  • You will be able to demonstrate competent IT skills and the ability to work with new systems and software in an evolving digital environment.

Why join our team?

  • Generous holiday leave - 25 days (pro-rata) annual leave plus University closure days and bank holidays.
  • Access to employee pension scheme, and annual flexible benefits scheme.
  • The Faculty and department offer a highly collegial and stimulating environment for career development based on our values and embedded Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) considerations and actions. We are committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies on an individual basis as well as the Athena SWAN Charter.

If you’re excited about creating an exceptional student experience and want to be part of a forward-thinking team, we’d love to hear from you!

The Department is home to an established team of seven Professional Services colleagues, who provide support to a diverse and world-leading academic faculty of circa 45 academic colleagues.

We are especially proud of our friendly environment, fostered by the PS Team– for example, each Tuesday we have a Protected Hour in the morning when we can sit together, relax and spend time talking about anything but work!  We also offer flexible working arrangements, which combine supportive time in the office along with time to do focused work from home.

Further information about the Department, its programmes and the wider Management School can be found here.

Informal enquiries are encouraged and can be made to Joanna Stephens (Faculty Education Services Manager) at j.stephens@lancaster.ac.uk, or Jackie Hughes (Departmental Administrator) at j.hughes5@lancaster.ac.uk
