The Department of Culture, Communication and Media (CCM) is a department of IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society. It is committed to excellence in teaching, research and consultancy in the areas of: Media and Cultural Studies, Art, Design and Museology; Academic writing; English education: Applied Linguistics; Music Education; Multimodality studies; Learning with Digital Technologies.
This role is be located in the UCL Knowledge Lab (KL), a leading interdisciplinary research centre in digital research and design, whose mission it is to understand and to develop digital technologies to support and transform learning and other social practices.
We are seeking an exceptional candidate for the post of Lecturer in Critical Media Practice.
You will play an important role in the detailed preparation for and delivery of the MA Digital Media: Production, contributing to teaching an important expertise required by the programme.
The role comprises a ratio of 80% teaching and related activities, and 20% research. In addition to teaching at postgraduate level, you will contribute to the PhD programme in Media, and to research, knowledge exchange and consultancy activities in ReMAP and the Knowledge Lab.
With a doctorate (completed or close to completion) on Media, Cultural or Visual Art Studies, or an appropriate alternative subject area, you will also have sound and up-to-date knowledge of key concepts in media production, critical theories, and media and cultural studies, with specific interest in 3D Animation Production.
