About the Role
We invite applications for positions at Lecturer and Senior Lecturer level within the Centre for Psychiatry and Mental Health. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading interdisciplinary centre with a growing portfolio of research and teaching across the life span. Our work spans mental health, primary care, geriatrics, neurology, and public health, addressing national priorities, such as the NHS Ten Year Health Plan. We host the NIHR Dementia and Neurodegeneration Policy Research Unit (DeNPRU-QM), the Alzheimer’s Society Doctoral Training Centre, and the UKRI Mental Health Research Hub.
About You
You should be committed to developing internationally excellent research in mental health and delivering high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. As a team player, you will contribute to QMUL’s research and teaching strategy, lead funding applications, and meet University of London academic standards, with established contributions through publications, research, teaching, and administration.
All candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and supervising graduate students.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), permanent appointment, with an expected start date of January 2026. The starting salary will be Grade 5 through 6 for lecturer and Grade 7 for Senior Lecturer, in the range of £51,755 - £60,901 per annum for Lecturer and £64,331 - £71,834 per annum for Senior Lecturer per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
