Do you have a passion for a different kind of engineering education? Do you have a vision for articulate and self-driven engineers with exemplary professional skills who can confidently tackle the interdisciplinary problems of the future? If so, you could be a great fit for the NMITE team!
You might be an established educational innovator looking to take your impact to a new level. You might be earlier in your career but wanting to develop your own teaching philosophy rather than being confined to longstanding structures and practices. You could be an industry professional, with up-to-date knowledge, and a passion for shaping the next generation by moving into teaching. Perhaps you have a passion for interdisciplinary engineering and technology that integrates the liberal arts. Our current team members joined for all these reasons, and more.
Who are we?
NMITE is an innovative new UK Higher Education provider, founded to rethink engineering and technology education and positively impact the region – educationally, economically, and socially. NMITE’s approach to teaching is progressive and connected – with contextualised admissions, active learning, interdisciplinarity, social awareness, and the integration of employers and the community in our teaching and learning.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a full-time, permanent Assistant or Associate Professor, who can develop learning experiences and teach in one of more of the areas of mechanical, control systems, electrical and electronic engineering, and Instrumentation. The ability and willingness to teach some data science, programming and AI would be an advantage (though this is not essential).
Appointments to the Assistant and Associate Professor role will suit capable individuals with relevant subject knowledge and the ability to take responsibility for the development and delivery of modules and curriculum areas.
Applicants will hold a relevant teaching qualification and/or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, or be willing to undertake this in the probationary period.

The way we work together is crucial to this mission and our values and behaviours must reflect this.
