We are a world class research-intensive university. We deliver teaching and learning of the highest quality. We play a leading role in economic, social and cultural development of the North East of England. Attracting and retaining high-calibre people is fundamental to our continued success.
The Role
The University’s Vision and Strategy sets out an ambitious and exciting journey, to be a people focused, world-leading university that harnesses academic excellence, innovation and creativity to advance knowledge and provide benefits to individuals, to organisations and to society as a whole. In order to achieve this vision, we recognise that our people, and our culture. are critical to our success. We are embarking on an ambitious research project, bringing together a multidisciplinary academic and professional services team that work in partnership with our research community with the aim of improving, recognising, and rewarding leadership practices that build psychologically safe and inclusive research cultures.
Our work programme co-creates two targeted organisational interventions with our research community to effect changes in our leadership practice; a contextualised Leadership Development programme; and, aligned Reward and Recognition processes, including the exploration of a ‘values-led’ recognition system to facilitate changes in leadership practices. These interventions will be informed by a Participatory Action Research group that involves colleagues from across Newcastle University.
This is where you come in…
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Research Project Administrator to support the project and contribute to its success. You will have strong organisational skills and excel at building strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders. Working as part of the project team, you will be the key point of contact for all of the administration needs of the project, whether that be organising team meetings and travel, developing communications campaigns, producing materials for training and other activities, or simply answering queries.
This role also uniquely involves spending a small amount of time (up to 10%) on research as part of a Participatory Action Research (PAR) group within the project. This may make the role be of particular interest to early career researchers looking to move into research enabling roles, or a Professional Services colleague looking for some research experience.
This post is full-time, fixed-term until 31.03.2026 and could be available to existing University colleagues as a secondment. You should discuss this with your current manager before submitting your application.
The role is hybrid with the option of a flexible working on campus and from home.
