The UCL Department of Information Studies (DIS) is a hub for research and education in librarianship, archiving, publishing, digital humanities and information science and offers postgraduate qualifications for these information professions. It collaborates in delivering an inter-faculty BSc in Information Management for Business and recently launched a new BSc Information in Society programme at UCL East. As part of our commitment to excellence in publishing education and research, we are seeking an innovative and engaged Lecturer/Associate Professor in Publishing beginning in January 2026. The successful candidate will contribute to the MA in Publishing programme, teaching core and optional modules, while bringing industry insights and contemporary perspectives on publishing practice.
About the role
The postholder will be responsible for delivering high-quality postgraduate teaching in publishing, contributing to curriculum development, and engaging in research or practice-based activities. The role includes leading teaching on core and optional modules related to publishing industry practice and studies, developing a research portfolio in publishing studies, supervising student dissertations, and undertaking administrative duties to support the Department's academic activities.
