We are seeking an exceptional individual for the role of Director of Human Resources (HRD).
The new HRD will be committed to the mission of Middlesex University, of putting knowledge into action and transforming lives through education, and the experiences of our students both locally and internationally will resonate with the person we appoint to this post. The University has commenced a challenging programme of financial sustainability in alignment with the 2031 Strategy. Against this backdrop, the new HRD will be focused on the delivery and fine-tuning of the University’s new People Strategy. They will develop and sustain a high-performing HR team whilst engaging in workforce planning, reorganisation programmes and EDI initiatives. They will work to maintain the striking, collaborative and student-focused organisational culture of Middlesex through a period of change and growth. As a regular attendee of University Executive Team meetings, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the HRD plays a critical role in supporting the University’s overall strategic development and delivery of plans and objectives.
Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate strong team skills and experience as a senior people leader in a large and complex organisation. They will have a proven ability to engage effectively with case work resulting in positive outcomes. They will be able to provide the Vice Chancellor and other members of the University Executive Team with insight for decision-making around reorganisation, restructuring and organisational development.
