LSE is committed to building a diverse, equitable and truly inclusive university
Salary from £36,513 to £41,565 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £44,468 pa inclusive of London allowance
By joining the Department of Geography and Environment at LSE, you will become part of a highly respected and high-performing Professional Services Team in one of the world’s leading Geography departments.
The department is ranked second globally in the QS 2025 World University Rankings, and its Professional Services Team has been recognised for both departmental and individual excellence through the School’s Values in Practice Awards.
We are seeking to appoint a highly committed and innovative individual to coordinate and deliver a varied programme of events and activities that foster student engagement, academic enrichment and community cohesion within the department.
You will play a central role in designing, organising and delivering a wide range of events – from student welcome and induction activities, to social and community-building events, academic enrichment initiatives and collaborations with student societies. Working closely with academic colleagues, professional services staff, and student representatives, you will be responsible for ensuring that events are well-planned, inclusive and contribute positively to the student experience. As a key point of contact for student engagement and community activities, you will also support departmental communications around events and respond to queries from staff, students and other departments across LSE.
You will bring strong organisational and event management skills, with proven experience in planning and delivering successful events and initiatives. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.
The role requires confidence in working with a wide range of stakeholders – from students and academic staff to external partners – and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with UK university structures and procedures is essential.
This position offers excellent opportunities for professional development, along with the chance to work in a friendly, supportive team that values creativity and collaboration. You will have a real impact on shaping the student experience and building a strong sense of community in a world-leading department.
We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working and excellent training and development opportunities.
