About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the University of Southampton as a Student Disability Team Leader in the Student Disability and Inclusion team. Sitting within the Student Support Directorate, our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality, seamless support and advice for disabled students within the framework of the Equality Act 2010. This includes students with long-term physical or mental health conditions, neurodivergent students (such as those with autism and ADHD), and those without a formal diagnosis of disability.
In this role you will be responsible for a team that provide the following support:
You will also be responsible for the planning an implementation of transition activities, ensuring that all incoming disabled students have the best possible start to university life.
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic leader who is passionate about inclusivity and committed to enhancing the experience of disabled students. Successful candidates will hold a relevant degree or be able to demonstrate an equivalent skill level and/or hold a relevant specialist qualification. Strong line management capabilities are essential, including experience in supporting staff development, managing performance, and fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
You will be a highly organised individual who brings experience in project management and working collaboratively with stakeholders. Experience in planning and running events, managing financial processes, and driving process improvement initiatives will be key to success in this role. You will be confident in managing multiple priorities and delivering impactful outcomes in a dynamic environment.
