The Opportunity:

The PRIME project is looking for an experienced and dedicated project manager. This role will be crucial to the successful delivery of PRIME, with the post holder responsible for the strategic execution of the project ensuring that the project meets its ambitious goals. This strategic role will ensure that the PRIME project meets its ambitious goals: establishing a world-leading infrastructure for ME/CFS research; enabling ≥15 novel collaborations; launching international consortia; and creating a large-scale PPI expert pool. Managing operational activity across the project’s three core components, the PRIME Project Manager will lead on operational delivery and day-to-day management. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in project management, and notably, someone familiar with the research environment who is passionate about building strong networks and fostering impactful collaborations.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

The salary for this post is £41,064 to £48,822 per annum.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Project Management expertise with a proficiency in managing complex, multi-institutional research projects/initiatives to agreed budgets, standards, and milestones.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a track record for establishing productive working relationships, managing stakeholders and networks, and fostering collaboration and engagement in both academia and industry.
  • Exceptional organisational and planning skills, with an ability to efficiently monitor progress, provide direction, foresee potential challenges and critical issues, and solve problems in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinated and deliver large-scale events/workshops that build connections and drive engagement, with an understand of how to effectively evaluate events.
  • Successful track record of establishing project governance and monitoring compliance.
