About the role
The Finance Department is responsible for providing a range of professional services to the University, including financial management, corporate governance, financial accounting and procurement.
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our team. The role of the Finance Business Partner is to support the Associate Director of Finance Accounting and the team of Finance Business Partners on the delivery and development of business support services to the University.
As a Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible to drive financial performance in a specific Faculty or Professional Service area of the University by providing leadership, guidance and support on financial information, business performance and implementation of strategies. In addition, you will be required to provide the financial position and performance of the organisation and improve short and long term performance through relevant, accurate and timely reporting, analysis, decision support and participation through business partnering and efficient operational and transactional processes.
You will be a role model able to work collaborative across the organisation, sharing information and using good industry practice to deliver on goals and objectives. Working with Deans and Senior Management you will ensure that decisions taken will deliver on our financial and operational objectives.
To meet this exciting challenge, you’ll need proven experience of being part of a team that has a culture of continual improvement and delivering on targets and driving value. The ability to build relationships to challenge and influence decision making at all levels of the organisation is paramount.
The University is looking for a Finance Business Partner with excellent analytical skills and a proven ability to communicate complex financial concepts in a clear, accessible manner to non-financial managers and who can quickly grasp the University’s financial operations.
The role provides a link between Finance and all other parts of the University, working in partnership to ensure the achievement of business targets, compliance with policies and adding value in all areas of work.
In addition to a professional accountancy qualification you will have advanced Excel skills, excellent communication skills and an ability to influence and negotiate.
You will provide budgeting, planning, forecasting, analysis and diagnostic expertise, linking financial and activity data.
For this role, you will need to be on site 3 days a week. Although we can accommodate working from home for this role, flexibility to be on-site will be expected due to business needs.
