About the Woolf Institute
We are an independent charity affiliated with the University of Cambridge through our partnerships with the Cambridge Theological Federation, St Edmund’s College, and the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. We seek to build understanding and trust between Jews, Muslims, and Christians, and between religious groups and wider society, through research, education, and public engagement. We celebrated our 25th anniversary in 2023.
Purpose of the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is familiar with the academic environment and interested in working in an academic-related field to fill this new and varied role. As Development and Alumni Relations Manager, you will use your knowledge of academia and the charitable sector to play a key role in the Institute of cultivating good relationships with funders, supporters, alumni, students, and partners through excellent administration of aspects of the Institute’s grants management, communications, and summer school.
Key responsibilities
The key responsibilities for this role include organising the annual Summer School, supporting colleagues in the submission of applications and reports for grant funding, having oversight of the record keeping related to grant funding, oversight of the website, and cultivating good relations with alumni and wider Institute stakeholders at events. Wider development opportunities may be included or added, depending on qualifications, experience, and performance and supported by appropriate training.
Working collaboratively and collegially is central to the ethos of the Woolf Institute. Working on site at least 60% of contracted hours weekly, being a collegial team member, and collaborating with colleagues are key to this role.
