Reuben College is a new graduate-only college which employs around 35 staff, across a wide range of roles, who work closely together. This is an exciting opportunity to join the College and be a key member of its Finance team.
About the role
You will play a central role in supporting the College’s financial operations, with particular responsibility for managing the annual student billing cycle in close collaboration with the Academic Office. Alongside this, you will contribute to the full range of day-to-day finance activities, including transaction processing, reconciliations, monitoring budgets, and financial reporting.
This is a varied role where you will use your financial administration experience, attention to detail, and process-driven approach to make a real contribution to the College. While experience in higher education is desirable, we welcome applications from all sectors who can demonstrate a proactive attitude and the ability to adapt quickly. You will enjoy working in a small, collaborative team and will have the opportunity to take ownership of key areas of responsibility.
About You
You will hold a Level 3 AAT qualification (or equivalent experience) and bring a strong working knowledge of accounting principles, including accruals, prepayments, and compliance. Highly accurate and detail-oriented, you will be confident in using financial systems and Excel at an advanced level, with the capacity to learn new tools and embrace process improvements. You will demonstrate analytical skill, problem-solving ability, and excellent organisation, particularly in managing billing and month-end deadlines. Clear communication, professionalism, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small team are essential to this role.
If you would like to discuss this role on an informal basis, please email Alice Channer, Head of Finance, at accountant@reuben.ox.ac.uk.
Application Process
You are required to upload your CV and a supporting statement, addressing each of the selection criteria outlined in the job description. Only online applications received before noon Wednesday 1 October 2025 will be considered.
First-round interviews will be held on Thursday 16 October 2025. Candidates successful at this stage will be invited to attend second-round interviews the following week.
