About the role
The University of Chichester wishes to recruit an Associate Lecturer / Associate Lead Mentor to join the team who teach on our postgraduate PGCE with iQTS programme. This course is delivered online.
As an Associate Lecturer, you will teach and assess the English Subject Study elements of the course and support Secondary English student teachers working abroad. The teaching involves a mix of small-group live sessions, facilitated through Microsoft Teams on Wednesdays at 1:30pm (UK time), and recorded video lectures with online study tasks. You will also support student teachers and their school-based mentors remotely.
The person appointed will have QTS and experience of teaching the UK Secondary English curriculum (either in the UK or an International school). They should have experience as an ITT mentor and an in-depth understanding of initial teacher education including the Initial Teacher Training and Early Career Framework (ITTECF). Candidates should hold a Masters degree or equivalent professional experience. Candidates will possess very good online teaching and communication skills and the ability to work on their own initiative and meet deadlines.
This position requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check, which will be undertaken by the University on appointment.
