The School of Performing and Digital Arts at Royal Holloway University of London is recruiting a dynamic Lecturer (Teaching Focus) in Film and Television Studies, based in the Department of Media Arts at its Egham campus. The department provides a full range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes to a student body that is over 40% Black and Global Majority.
The successful candidate will teach modules relating to film and television studies across all levels of our undergraduate provision. They will convene the modules Television Histories and/or Poetics of Television, and make a contribution to core first year modules. They may also undertake some supervision of undergraduate dissertations. The successful candidate will have experience of teaching in film and/or television studies at undergraduate level. They should have been awarded a PhD in a relevant field.
The appointment will be made at Lecturer grade 8, with start point varying according to experience and qualifications.
The job holder will report to the Head of Department of Media Arts, undertaking appropriate leadership and administrative duties. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, organisational, team-working and interpersonal skills, with proven abilities to engage with students, colleagues and research communities from a wide range of backgrounds.
