About the Role
We are looking for an ambitious and enterprising Communications and Engagement Officer (part-time) to become a core member of our small, friendly team, based within the University of Oxford’s Department of Computer Science. This post is an exciting opportunity to play a major role in shaping a fast-paced, world-leading AI Hub.
The Communications and Engagement Officer will be responsible for facilitating effective communication with, and interaction between, the Hub’s various stakeholders, both internal and external. This will involve managing multiple communications channels and planning, creating and distributing high quality content to promote the Hub’s activities and impact. This post holder will develop and implement effective communications and engagement strategies that align with the Hub’s priorities, in conjunction with the Hub Manager, Strategic Engagement Lead and other senior stakeholders.
The AI Hub:
The EPSRC-funded Erlangen AI Hub brings together leading minds from across the UK’s mathematical, algorithmic and computational communities, employing foundational tools to break new ground in AI, and redefine its future use to benefit science, industry, the economy and society. The Hub focusses on the mathematics and computational research foundational to AI, which could unlock new, more efficient AI systems. In particular, the Hub seeks new AI breakthroughs by employing theoretical tools from currently underexplored mathematical fields. Led by the University of Oxford and partnered with institutions and industry across the UK, the Hub brings together a diverse cohort of stakeholders. The successful candidate will be an active member of the University’s Communications Community of Practice and/or other relevant networks/groups in order to share information, promote best practice and ensure cross-University communications are coordinated.
