Rose Bruford College is one of the UK’s leading drama schools and a pioneering centre for theatre, production, and performance training. We are a small community of around 1,000 students across foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate and research courses. With a diverse and inclusive community of students, staff, and alumni, we are proud to produce creative, adaptable, and industry-ready graduates who shape the future of the creative arts. We have a growing research culture with research intensities in Queer performance, Acting and performance, Scenographies and technologies and socially engaged and political performance.
The College is looking to appoint a combined Research Coordinator (Funding and Impact) (0.5FTE) and Research Fellow (0.2FTE). As the Research Coordinator (Funding and Impact) (0.5FTE), you will work in the Research Office to plan, facilitate and support applications for research funding and, where appropriate, facilitate and develop impact derived from research. We are seeking a proactive, diligent and detail-oriented individual to provide expert guidance on funding opportunities, advise on bid writing, coordinate timelines, and ensure compliance with funder and institutional requirements. We are looking for someone with excellent organisational and communication skills, a strong understanding of the UK research funding landscape, and the ability to work collaboratively to enhance research capacity and impact. The role holder will be supported to develop their understanding of funding applications and will work within a collaborative team to develop funding applications at individual and institutional levels.
As Research Fellow (0.2 FTE), you will undertake independent research in theatre and performance, contribute to the department’s research culture through high-quality publications, collaborative initiatives, and engagement in seminars and scholarly networks. The successful candidate will have a developing or established research profile, and the ability to plan and deliver ambitious research. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research fits within our current research intensities, which are: Queer Performance, Acting and Performance, Scenographies and Technologies, and Socially Engaged and Political Performance. Researchers are supported through mentorship and guidance, as well as participation in a vibrant and growing research culture.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to support research excellence while advancing your own scholarly profile. If you are passionate about enabling research excellence and developing your research within a dynamic and creative environment, we would love to hear from you.
