The University of Surrey is a global community of ideas and people, dedicated to life-changing education and research.
We have a bold vision of what we want to achieve - shaping ourselves into one of the best universities in the world, which we are achieving through the talents and endeavour of every employee.
Our culture empowers people to achieve this aim and to collectively, and individually, make a real difference.
The role
Employability and Careers is seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual to join the Professional Training team, specifically to support a small number of strategically important Postgraduate Placement programmes.
The post holder will work closely with the Student Employability and Opportunities Lead, and relevant faculty Directors of Employability, to develop a consistently high-quality experience for MSc Data Science and MSc Cyber Security students seeking/undertaking work placements as part of their programme of study. Student Experience is the ultimate measure of success, but achieving this will be dependent on forging strong, long-term partnerships with a range of external placement providers.
About you
The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate a strong customer focus and understanding of what students, staff and external placement providers will require from them. The role requires a proactive individual, competent in the use of IT with an attitude open to change. The ability to work to a high level of accuracy is also essential.
The role will require excellent interpersonal and organisational ability demonstrating adaptability and flexibility with regards to changing workloads and priorities. The successful candidate will need to be able to adapt to different situations and establish rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
What we can offer
In addition to salary, you will receive a yearly incremental pay rise, generous annual leave entitlement of 25 days holiday plus 7 university closure days and 8 bank holidays (pro rata for part time roles), a generous pension, access to world-class leisure facilities on campus, a range of travel schemes, and supportive family friendly benefits including an excellent on-site nursery.
