We are seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to join our team working on the groundbreaking EU Horizon SUNPEROM project at UCL. You will play a central role in developing a revolutionary integrated device that converts atmospheric CO₂ directly into methanol using only sunlight, under ambient conditions. You will be at the heart of developing and characterizing novel electrode materials and scalable fabrication processes for a multifunctional Gas Diffusion Layer (GDL), a core component of the SUNPEROM tandem device. Your work will bridge materials chemistry, electrochemistry, and device engineering, contributing to a technology with the potential to redefine sustainable fuel production. You will work within a world-leading, interdisciplinary consortium of European universities and SMEs. This is a full-time appointment for a period of two years continuously, available from 1st of November 2025. You will hold a PhD in Chemistry / Electrochemistry / Materials Sci./Eng./ Chemical Engineering / Physics or relevant related discipline. You will also have demonstrable experimental experience in electrochemistry, specifically in electrode fabrication, electrochemical testing (e.g., CV, LSV, EIS), and product analysis (e.g., GC, HPLC).
