The role

We are looking for someone with events management, social media communications and digital marketing experience, to raise the profile of the BDFI programme and its activities.

You will be responsible for organising and delivering high profile events and developing engaging communications and digital content to help to promote our research, events, and partnerships to a wide range of audiences, and enhance our network of contacts.

You will contribute to effective communications planning and report on BDFI activities to partners, academics, policy makers and community organisations.

This role is part of the Faculty of Science & Engineering’s Industrial Liaison Office, which connects you with around 50 research professional staff in similar roles and provides support and a team environment.  

Please note that, due to operational needs, we are ideally seeking someone who can commit to a full-time position and be on-site four days per week.

What will you be doing?

  • Organise, promote and deliver a range of internal and external events.
  • Manage social media accounts, creating content to build an engaged community and widely promote activity.
  • Lead on developing and maintaining the BDFI website and produce the BDFI newsletter.
  • Design and prepare a range of documents and publicity material.
  • Prepare reports on project outputs, BDFI academics’ activities and relevant partner updates.

You should apply if

  • You have a passion for effective and creative communication and marketing.
  • You have experience of organising and delivering a range of events.
  • You have excellent writing and copywriting skills which you can tailor to diverse audiences.
  • You have extensive experience of delivering multiple creative projects to deadlines, often balancing competing priorities.
  • You have strong organisational and time management skills and enjoy working both independently and collaboratively.
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging confidently with stakeholders at all levels.

Work pattern: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week
