The Opportunity:
We are looking to recruit an ambitioned, motivated, and creative postdoctoral research associate (PDRA) with structural biochemistry and/or cell biology expertise to the Muir lab at the University of Edinburgh.
You will work on a Wellcome-funded project that will establish mechanisms by which human SMC complexes reorganise the genome during mitosis to facilitate chromosome segregation. The project has the potential to lead to exciting and significant discoveries in the fundamental biological process of genome inheritance.
The candidate will benefit from excellent core resources including a state-of-the-art Glacios 2 electron microscope equipped with a Falcon 4i direct detector and Selectris-X energy filter, as well as proteomics and light-microscopy facilities.
This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
