As a result of the expansion in Clinical Psychology Doctoral training we have an exciting opening for an academic to join the Clinical Psychology Research Team. The current team are a welcoming, innovative and cohesive group with a wide variety of research interests and expertise in training. The PsychD Programme in Clinical Psychology is based in the School of Psychology of the University of Surrey which has an outstanding reputation for applied psychology training and research.

We seek to appoint an established academic with a strong research profile in cutting-edge Clinical Psychology/mental health research and a track record of mobilising funding to deliver impactful change for individuals, families, organisations and/communities to join a School and Faculty with research ambition and a drive to have real impact in the world. 

We welcome applications from people who have worked within one or more of the following disciplines: Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, Community Psychology or mental health/distress more broadly. We encourage candidates with a track record in areas which enhance or complement our existing research strengths (see https://www.surrey.ac.uk/school-psychology/research), and with expertise in qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods to apply. 

You will be joining a vibrant Department with an active research culture and a clear remit to develop and extend the reach of Clinical Psychological research. As a Doctoral Training Programme, we welcome applicants who are experienced in postgraduate research supervision and research methodologies training to help support research excellence in the next generation of clinical psychology scientist-practitioners. Postgraduate and Doctoral teaching and research supervision are a central part of the role, with an expectation that the candidate will contribute to wider aspects of the PsychD programme, the school and the university to align with their interests and expertise. 

All post-holders will hold a doctorate in psychology, or equivalent and contribute directly to research, teaching and learning and administration including admissions. 

Please note that this role will be offered at either Lecturer B or Senior Lecturer level depending on your experience (see job profiles below for further details). The salary range for a Lecturer B starts at £47,389 and Senior Lecturer starts at £58,225.
