Joining Bury College as a Learning Resource Centre Assistant, you will facilitate learning within the three libraries across the campus. This is a part time (20 hours), term time only (plus one week) role. Offering cover in the libraries from 10.30am – 2.30pm, Monday – Friday to support during the lunch time period
The successful candidate will be confident in offering positive and knowledgeable customer service, as the first line of support for students and staff in locating and using library, information and learning resources.
Duties will include issuing and renewing resources via Library Management System, shelving returned items, as well as monitoring and assisting students with the effective use of IT facilities. There will be lots of opportunity for creativity and you will be encouraged to use your initiative to run and promote reading incentives
If you have a love for learning and are confident in a student facing role, this could be job for you.
We are looking for a candidate with strong communication skills, great customer service, and excellent IT skills, including a good working knowledge of MS Office applications.
You must be capable of retrieving information from a number of sources within a library. Previous experience of working in a similar environment and facilitating learning for learners of all ages and abilities is desirable.
