Main duties and responsibilities
We are looking for a talented and motivated event professional to join our team to manage a busy corporate events calendar, from concept to execution and evaluation. The Events Executive (Corporate) will play an integral role in the development, implementation and evaluation of all corporate campaign activity for the University. While the role may occasionally involve supporting hybrid or virtual events, the primary focus is on the planning, coordination and management of in-person corporate events.
This role has shared management responsibility of the Events Coordinator with the Events Executive (Recruitment). You will manage the content on the events sections of the University’s external website and internal staff intranet, support and advise event organisers across the University on best practices within events management and bring ideas and recommendations to the table based on the latest event insights, trends, legislation etc.
Skills and experience required
The successful candidate will have strong experience of event management, and experience of managing and liaising with different stakeholders/clients with a strong ability to form good relationships and act as an events consultant – recommending other tactics to achieve objectives where appropriate. You will have an understanding of the importance of a defined events strategy with the strong ability to multitask, with excellent IT skills and good organisational skills with a can do attitude to problem solving.
You will have experience of acting as an events consultant and have confidence providing insights on key trends and industry developments that may influence event planning or new initiatives. You will have an understanding of how to communicate effectively with key audiences and create clear, compelling event messages. Good judgment, being adaptable and flexible to team and workload requirements along with the ability to demonstrate initiative and be able to innovate and be creative is essential.
Qualifications required
You will be educated with a minimum of a degree or equivalent or proven professional work experience.
