An exciting opportunity has arisen in our small, friendly client-side estates team for a project manager to undertake a wide range of capital development, refurbishment and infrastructure works generally from £50k to £3m per project on our city centre campus.
As the successful candidate, you will manage a variety of redevelopment and refurbishment projects including new teaching spaces, agile workspaces and research facilities of a varying size and scope that will fulfil the university’s ambitious growth plans. You will manage a design team where required and also specify and design smaller works. You will be responsible for the whole project process from conception and gathering the brief, through to ensuring a timely completion within budget.
We provide generous annual leave of 43 days per annum, including statutory holidays, and are very flexible in our approach. We operate an agile working policy whereby you may work where best suits the activity, including working at home if desired, although attendance on campus is expected to be three days per week on average and as required by the projects in motion. You will need substantial previous experience of UK construction project management at the appropriate level, including experience of managing design teams and designing and specifying small works. You must be PC literate and have experience of Microsoft Project. Only candidates with substantial experience of construction undertaken within the UK will be considered.
You will be customer focused and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, with careful and sensitive management of user expectation being highly valued.
