This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate of the University of Essex, to join the Student Recruitment Team, which is part of the University’s Marketing, Student Recruitment and Admissions section.

Marketing, Student Recruitment and Admissions brings together the main areas involved in leading the University's student recruitment as well as strategic positioning and profile. Engaging with students, staff and stakeholders, we promote the University's excellence in research and education, and ensure its profile is communicated in a consistent way. Duties of the Role
The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for delivering the University’s UK student recruitment, conversion, schools liaison, and recruitment events activities. Duties will include representing the University at national higher education exhibitions as well as local events and careers fairs within schools and colleges. The post-holder will assist in the organisation and delivery of on-campus events such as Open Days and Insight Days, in addition to giving presentations and advice on a wide range of HE topics.

The Student Recruitment and Marketing Assistant will be responsible for overseeing the logistics of recruitment activity, such as organising on-campus school visits and managing enquiries from key stakeholders.

The post holder is required to undertake travel around the UK and therefore must possess a full, clean UK driving licence. The post holder will be required to work some weekends and evenings.

Skills and qualifications required
The post-holder will be a graduate of the University of Essex, thus holding an honours degree or equivalent level of qualification or experience, as well as an interest in, and knowledge of, the higher education sector.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in public speaking. They will be motivated and proactive, with an ability to work flexibly on their own initiative and to deadlines. This role requires both team and independent working, and therefore the successful candidate will demonstrate autonomy, strong organisation and interpersonal skills. To fulfil the marketing elements of this role, a high standard of written English, accuracy and eye for detail are required.

Due to the nature of the work, applicants who are offered employment will be subject to an Enhanced DBS before the appointment is confirmed.
