An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS) for an enthusiastic individual to join the team part-time as a Course Administrator.

The responsibilities will be varied, with the postholder working within the core administrative team within POLIS, and supporting students from courses across the Department throughout their studies. The role holder will also assist with the organization of events, coordinate visiting scholars, and take on general duties that are essential for the day-to-day running of POLIS. The role holder will be a key contact for academics, senior administrators, and the Head of Department within POLIS.

The successful candidate will have relevant experience of administration within a busy environment and excellent administrative skills, including competence in standard software packages, e.g. Word, Outlook, and Excel. Excellent communication skills and an ability to relate to people across a range of professional roles is essential, as well as an ability to prioritise own workload and work independently.

The Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS) is a world-class institution that provides a focus for politics at the University of Cambridge, providing teaching and research for around 600 undergraduates and more than 320 postgraduate students across a range of disciplines. POLIS is one of four departments within the Faculty of Human, Social, and Political Science, and includes ten centres which lead the historical and contemporary study of many interdisciplinary areas, such as development studies and gender studies.
