About the role - The purpose of this role will be to have specific responsibility for research, for developing research objectives and proposals for a research project, Falls in Stroke Survivors, in the Centre for Rehabilitation and Ageing Research. You will be expected to plan and conduct work using approaches or methodologies and techniques appropriate to the type of research and will be responsible for writing up your work for publication.

About the team - You will join an established team, led by Professor Pip Logan and Dr Vicky Booth, whose main areas of research interest include falls, stroke, and rehabilitation.  The Falls in Stroke Survivors study is a multisite randomised controlled trial funded by the NIHR starting in September 2024.  The initial phase of the study adapted an existing, effective falls intervention, Action Falls, to a stroke population using co-production with patient representatives and other stakeholders. Your role will support the next phase of this exciting study, working with the wider research team to support the delivery of the Stroke Action Falls trial by training and supporting the clinicians working on the trial, collect, collate and analyse the therapy records and work alongside the trials team to support any intervention-related tasks for the study.

About you – You will have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area, or be about to complete you PhD and be able to manage, plan and conduct research as part of the team. You will have had experience of the research methodologies and techniques we are using within the trial (e.g., intervention fidelity assessments) as well as experience delivering training and support as part of a research study.
