About the Role
The Collaborative Engagement and Retention Team (CERT), based within the Centre for Student and Community Engagement (CenSCE), works in partnership with Academic Schools, Professional Services, and the Students’ Union to design, develop and implement interventions that enhance the engagement, retention, and progression of students at Nottingham Trent University. Examples of the work that the team lead include Student Mentoring and The Black Leadership Programme.
We are looking for a proactive, confident, and creative individual with a genuine passion for working with students. The successful candidate will be organised with good attention to detail, have strong people and communication skills, and a proven track record of working with a range of stakeholders to deliver successful projects, which includes the coordination of our Black Leadership Programme as well as other student development initiatives. We need a team player who is willing to get involved in all aspects of the work of CERT from creative problem-solving to developing and coordinating administrative tasks.
Experience of working with students or young people in an educational context and the ability to connect with people from a wide range of backgrounds is essential. Whilst not compulsory, prior experience of running student development programmes or co-curricular schemes (e.g., Diversity Programmes, Student Mentor, Students’ Union or Volunteering schemes or supporting student Clubs or Societies) would be advantageous, as would experience of line management.
