About the role
The EPSRC-funded LEAP (Leadership Engagement Acceleration & Partnership) Hub is a ground breaking Digital Health Hub for the South West of England and Wales. The Hub aims to build on the strengths of each of its institutional partners to provide opportunities for training, research, and collaboration.
The Hub programmes comprise a Skills and Knowledge Programme that delivers a selection of training courses designed for professional learners across the Digital Health sector, a Fellowship Programme to develop future leaders in Digital Health, and a Research Programme that is funding opportunities identified by the Hub.
We are keen to recruit a researcher with expertise in digital health (i.e., health, psychology, human computer interaction, human factors, computer science or a cognate discipline) to primarily support Bath’s contribution to LEAP’s Skills and Knowledge Programme. Specifically, the researcher will support the curation and development of teaching resources to support a portfolio of courses that are being developed to reflect the needs of learners working in digital health. Introductory short courses that Bath aims to develop include Data Mining, Statistics in Practice and Machine Learning. You can find out more about the potential content that these might include here. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the development of associated new MSc programmes in The School of Management in areas relating to Digital Futures, including courses involving artificial intelligence, behavioural science, and cybersecurity, with close links to industry and public sector priorities. This is an exciting opportunity to shape cutting-edge training in a rapidly evolving area.
The Research Associate/Research Fellow will be based within the Information, Decisions and Operations (IDO) Division School of Management at the University of Bath, where there will also be opportunities to work across our current suite of grants and research centres. The University of Bath is a thriving hub for world-leading research in human aspects of cybersecurity and includes a number of research groups, centres and institutes including the Centre for Healthcare Innovation and Improvement, the Centre for 21st Century Public Health, the Applied Digital Behaviour Lab, and the Institute of Digital Security and Behaviour.
The appointment will be made at a level commensurate with your experience. As a Research Associate you will hold a PhD (or be close to completion) in Psychology, Digital Health, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or other relevant field and be able to demonstrate a suitable publication track record. To be appointed at the Research Fellow level, you will have considerable post-doctoral research experience in a relevant field, a strong publication record, and be able to demonstrate leadership and mentorship in your area of specialisation.
As a member of Research Staff at the University of Bath, you will be encouraged to take up a minimum of 10 days professional development pro rata per year.
We welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences who are passionate about advancing digital health education and research.
