We are seeking a motivated Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor to join our Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy (Ref.: 533133) as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

In the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy, we build on understanding of drugs to develop medicines of high safety and efficacy. We welcome applications from scientists with backgrounds in drug discovery, pharmaceutical technology, drug delivery, and translational science. We welcome imaginative and interdisciplinary applicants who can move our ambitions forward by pursuing new opportunities for laboratory research programmes. There is a particular opportunity to enhance collaborations between our department and other Schools within LKS Faculty of Medicine at HKU. 

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in pharmacology or other relevant disciplines.  They should have a strong, fundable research area that fits with pharmaceutical sciences and has obvious potential for collaboration with researchers locally and globally. The appointee will conduct independent and collaborative scholarly research and undertake administrative duties at the Department and Faculty levels. He/She will also contribute primarily to the curriculum development of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in pharmaceutical science but can contribute to teaching programmes in medicine, biomedical sciences, nursing, and/or Chinese medicine. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
