The School of Applied Sciences is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified individual to join our existing Science Extended Degree (SED) team. The aim is to provide teaching and learning support for students on our Science Extended Degree. This role is primarily focused on providing support to teaching across a range of science subjects, particularly supporting the delivery of lab-based activities and in-class seminars.
As Academic Skills Tutor/Extended Degree Support, you will be involved in the delivery of course material, marking assessments, administration, and pastoral support. This is a key support role which is focused on developing the students’ core academic skills in the requisite subject area.
A degree in a science or relevant teaching qualification is essential, as are good numeracy skills. Good organisational skills are also required, as well as having the ability to work to tight deadlines.
We offer an excellent employment package, including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working (dependent on work duties).
The University is deeply committed to equality and diversity for all its students and staff. We seek to be diverse and inclusive, supporting individuals and groups to fulfil their potential and nurture a sense of belonging. We strive to be an accessible, inclusive employer, removing barriers for all.
