£29,329 to £35,943 £35,359 to £41,973 per annum (including £5,947 shift allowance) Posts are offered at the minimum salary point with progression to the higher salary point achieved through an annual incremental pay rise.

Working across all University sites the successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of security patrol officers, gatehouse security officers and control room staff allocating resources to ensure University sites are covered at all times. You will be the Security representative at major incidents and will take charge of the Security Services in the absence of the Security Management Team.
Duties will also include submitting reports, reviewing, amending and monitoring crime prevention and reduction measures, ensuring all control room, CCTV and out-of-hours procedures are kept up to date and are adhered to.
Candidates should have supervisory experience gained while working in a similar security related or customer service role and environment, have the ability to make independent decisions while working under pressure and have proven leadership and motivational skills. Candidates should also have working experience of the technology used in security operations. Due to the nature of the role and the amount of travelling between university sites it is essential that candidates hold a full, current driving licence.

This position is offered on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 per week), made up of rotational shifts (12 hour shifts through a 24-hour period) The shift pattern is 4 on 4 off consisting of 2 days 7am to 7pm and then 2 nights 7pm to 7am followed by 4 days off. Flexibility to work any shift is required. Job share arrangements may be considered.
The successful candidate for this post will be expected to attend the Estates and Facilities training courses which run Monday to Friday mornings. Further details will be given at interview.
